Amfine Chemical Corporation is a strategic joint venture of ADEKA Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas) founded in 1994. Today, Amfine manufactures and markets a wide variety of specialty plastic additives, including high performance antioxidants, light stabilizers, nucleating agents, halogen-free flame retardants, high-performance antioxidants, and heavy metal free heat stabilizers for PVC. These products add value and provide special effects in numerous applications, including automotive, building and construction materials, electrical and electronics, packaging, and others. Amfine established its own manufacturing plant in Hopkinsville, Kentucky in 2000, which was expanded in 2011. The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified plant is a shining example of ADEKA's advanced manufacturing technology and earned the 2001 National Design-Build Award of Excellence in the "Best Project-Industrial / Process Sector" by the Design-Build Institute of America. Today the Kentucky plant produces advanced plastic additives as well as PVC heat stabilizers. In 2012, AM Stabilizers Corporation was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Amfine to manage the PVC stabilizers business acquired from the Halstab Division of Hammond Group, Inc. AMS is a global supplier of high quality liquid and powder heat stabilizers for both flexible and rigid PVC applications, and also the world's leading supplier of barium and calcium intermediates used in the production of liquid mixed metal stabilizers for PVC.
