Over the decades the firm has conducted many prestigious sales for the region's wealthy industrial and land owning families, such as the contents of Lampton Castle for the Earl of Durham, the contents of Matfen Hall for Sir George Blackett, and the contents of Ravensworth Castle prior to demolition, for Lord Ravensworth. In more recent years we have conducted auction sales that have attracted worldwide interest and achieved some spectacular results for our vendors. All our sales are publicised in National and International trade publications, as well as Local and National press and, in today's fast changing world, the internet. We have live internet bidding available in our Fine Art Sales, as well as telephone and absentee bidding. Increasingly the internet is taking a more important role in the sale of antiques, and we at Anderson & Garland are constantly improving our services to our U.K. based and worldwide clients. As well as our quarterly Fine Art Sales, we hold our Town & County Sales every two weeks. These sales are designed for goods with a more modest value and represent a whole spectrum of antiques and collectable items. One of our specialities is the handling of deceased estates, whether large or small. Our dedicated team will handle everything from the probate valuation, to the dispersal of bequests and the eventual house clearance. We pride ourselves on our personal service and our expertise in all aspects of auctioneering and valuation.
