Gateway Crate and Freight LLC is a professional crating, packaging and shipping company located in Tempe, Arizona providing on site and off site crating and packing services as well as local pickup and delivery to commercial and residential customers located in the greater Phoenix Metro area. We are a veteran owned small business with decades of experience in the supply chain services industry. Gateway O.T is a quality 3 PL providing Optimum Transportation solutions for our clients reducing transportation related costs and improving customer service. My name is Steven and I started in this business in 1984 when at the age of 17 I was loading C-130 and C-141 Cargo Planes while serving our country in the U.S. Air Force. My business partner Roy started by building custom wood crates in a garage. Before starting Gateway Crate and Freight we worked for a number of companies where we built up our knowledge base for our business. In the last three decades we have: loaded and unloaded cargo aircraft, ocean/intermodal containers, rail boxcars, flatbed and van trucks, moving PODS and parcel vans. We have also managed a number of supply chain departments including warehousing, inventory, purchasing, traffic, distribution and logistics. Our specific experiences include managing inbound logistics for a National Office Supply chain, administering franchise setup for a Regional Mail Center Franchiser, Warehouse and Transportation manager for a Global Beauty Supply products company as well as for a Multinational Consumer Electronics Firm, Traffic and Logistics manager for a Global manufacturer and distributor of lumber Forrest products, Account manager for a Global Logistics and Moving Company as well as Operations Manager for a National Crate and Freight company.
