ECOLOGIA CARMELO INC.
CARMELO is a family business established in 1955 by Carmelo Figueroa and his wife Sara Padilla. Starting as a manual masonry manufacturing operation in Naranjito, CARMELO grew fast thanks to the monumental growth that Operation Bootstrap gave to the Puertorrican Economy. By 1977 CARMELO's principal line of business shifted to the mining, becoming Puerto Rico's principal aggregate manufacturing operator. By 1986, CARMELO achieved a successful second generation transition. Productora de Agregados, founded in 1977, Canarico Quarry, acquired in 1995 and Cantera Carmelo Vega Alta acquired in 2004, manufactures aggregates and sands used in every form of construction.
