Founded over 30 years ago by my mum Pervez when I was just 5 years old, I have grown up with Flamingo and to me it is quite simply an extension of my home. My aim is to ensure every person who walks through our doors feel as welcome, comfortable and relaxed as I would hope they would be if they walked into my own front room and for their shopping experience to be fun and totally free from stress. One of my mother's favourite expression has always been that 'fashion is for the masses; style is for the individual' and it is this ethos that both myself and the amazing team of staff we are blessed to have, try to carry through into everything we do. Many people initially come to us for that special outfit as Mother of the Bride or Groom and we absolutely love being part of such a special occasion. We have spent 30 years growing and expanding both the store and our selection of labels so that we can offer the most extensive variety of styles, certainly in the North and possibly in the whole of the UK. Magazines often ask us to write articles on what the trends are for the coming season, but the truth is that in modern day occasion wear there really aren't any anymore. There is such a variety of styles, colours, textures and shapes to suit any style of wedding and to cater to everyone's taste, and we aim to offer you the absolute best of them making it a pleasure for us to help customers navigate this field and find their dream outfit. But that's just one (albeit huge!) part of what we offer here at Flamingo. We don't make the claim 'Whatever the occasion we have the outfit' lightly; we genuinely do stock everything from an outfit to take you to the palace, right through to jeans and a coat to take you to the park!
