INDUSTRIAL BRUSHWARE (PTY) LTD.

The Company was founded in 1992 by Shane Davis the present owner and director. Shane previously had 5 years experience within the Brush Industry before deciding to venture out on his own with the vision of developing a Specialist Brush Manufacturing Company. Initially the company operated from rented premises in Altona Victoria where its main activity was the on-selling of brushes made by other companies. Gradually as market opportunity and equipment became available more manufacturing was undertaken, in particular the production of moulded brooms (a very unique brush production process). The acquisition of strip brush machines and other plant necessitated further expansion and in 1997, the company built a large factory in Sunshine Victoria to better house the new machinery and stock. In January 1999, the company took advantage of the reduction of manufacturing by McDonald Dixbro in Adelaide South Australia and opened a factory there creating an opportunity to capture a share of that market as well as employing some of the most experienced staff in the manufacture of Specialist and Custom Made Brushware. As growth continued into year 2000 a purpose built fully automated state of the art staple set machine was purchased from Borghi in Italy, it being the only machine of its type in Australia and with the capacity to produce one piece brushes up to 3000mm in length it gave us the competitive edge over all the other Brush companies in Australia and increased the range of products that we could offer. With a view to continued growth and expansion more specialised automated brush manufacturing machines were purchased in 2001 and 2003, which lead to the opening of an additional manufacturing facility in Wacol Queensland in January 2003. This was quickly followed by expansion into Batam Indonesiaand Singapore in 2004. In 2005 the acquisition of Bonne Engineering (currently trading as Australian Combustion Engineering) not only gave us increased capabilities in the brush market but also an opportunity to diversify ...
