London Distillers (K) Ltd marks 25 years since its establishment in Kenya. Formerly in collaboration with Mohan Meakin India, LDK thrives on 125 years experience in liquor manufacturing in other parts of the world. Today, LDK continues to remain the single undisputed modern distillery in the country and in the East African region. Its establishment was as a result of growing need for high quality spirits in the region. LDK head offices are based in Nairobi, with its distillery spread over 110 acres of land in Athi River. A vast majority of this land is dedicated to an effluent treatment plant. With the undertaking of this project the company is dedicated and enthusiastic to continue its operations under strict environmental friendly conditions. Since its establishment the company has continued to fulfill one of its fundamental core values; to be socially responsible and to conduct business in a prudent, ethical and environmentally friendly manner. This achievement has been further enhanced by employing a more labor intensive workforce then opposed to machinery in order to boost employment in the region where it is situated. With qualified and well trained workforce, LDK has established 5 regional depots in; Mombasa, Eldoret, Nanyuki, Kisumu and Nakuru with a bid to enforce its distribution network and cater for a wider consumer base. From a humble beginning with only a few brands existing, the company has registered remarkable growth in size and its product range. Employing 435 Staff directly and 2500+ indirectly LDK further fulfils its social responsibilities in supporting various charity organizations. The company whole heartedly supports the Disabled Association of Kenya, Thika School for Blind and various other orphaned children homes. LDK offers a product portfolio of over 25 brands comprising of the Safari Series and Meakins Series.
