Malena Produce was founded in 1953 by Juan B. Stamos, a young Greek man who emigrated to Mexico. Malena has grown to be the largest grower/shipper and "Category Leader" of eggplant in the world. Twenty years later, Malena Produce, Inc. started operations in Nogales to market the Stamos family's products and provide other Mexican premium produce from other regions all the way to the supermarket shelves and restaurant plates in the U.S. and Canada, using strict quality assurance standards.
