Martijn Smits (1975) is a passionate filmmaker. After graduating in 2002 at the School of Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands, he started working an assistant-director on several Dutch television seriesand feature films After gaining a fair amount of experience he started working as freelance director at MTV Networks and has directed a great variety of commercials and music videos over the past three years. His work at MTV is best known for the highly acclaimed award winning promo campaign for the TMF Game Awards Shows. Besides directing commercials and music videos, he's very passionate about making feature films and shorts. In the last three years he wrote and directed three successful short films; The Bug, a black comedy, the horror film Brother's Keeper and the thriller Off Road.
