Sponge-Jet manufactures composite abrasive blasting products and equipment which can remove an often disruptive and time-intensive process from the critical path of operations. The Sponge Media's green credentials stem from its ability to reduce fugitive emissions, destructive ricochet and costly handling and waste disposal. Unlike ordinary abrasives, composite abrasive particles are both abrasive (or cleaning agent) and sponge: it removes coatings from ferrous substrates as effectively as conventional grit, while its unique sponge structure allows it to do so in a manner that suppresses dust and rebound. This sponge abrasive consists of grit encapsulated in porous, sponge-like urethane. When modified blast units propel Sponge Media to the surface, it abrades the substrate in a controlled manner; it rebounds, returning to its former shape.
